The Eucharist: Source and Summit

The Second Vatican Council calls the Eucharist the "source and summit" of the Christian life. Everything in the Church flows from the altar and leads back to it. When we gather each Sunday, we are not merely performing a ritual — we are entering into the eternal sacrifice of Christ, offered once for all and made present again on our altar.
