Jesus promised that after his Ascension, the Father would send the Holy Spirit — the Advocate, the Paraclete — to guide us into all truth. The Spirit is not an abstract force but a divine person who dwells within every baptized Christian. When we pray, it is the Spirit who prays within us. When we serve others, the Spirit empowers us.
